As a Trust school, we are committed to sending out citizens fit for 21st Century living and this means providing a focus in the curriculum on character education and development through both explicit teaching and implicit experiences – deep immersion into projects which help build character.

One of these projects has involved pupils working with the elderly within our community. This has involved pupils writing to the elderly member of their community and striking up a relationship that has led to the pen pals meeting up through various activities and creating long lasting friendships.

One of our schools, Shaldon Primary, were delighted to receive the prestigious Speakers Award from The Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow for this work.
